Christmas Everything

Everything is so much more fun this time of year with these little people. Yesterday, in temperatures that felt like sub-zero, we ventured to BC for the annual alumni Winter Wonderland. They made places like the Q-hut and Duschene lounge into a child friendly and Christmas atmosphere - this transformation in itself is a christmas miracle. Since we were having so much fun, we decided to try out having 3 kids in a bowling alley. Lots of fun although I'll never understand the east coast version of candle pin bowling (really skinny pins and small balls for all of you regular bowlers out there.)

Finally, Matt and I went to see Slum Dog Millionare last night - awesome movie! Go see it.

Much love as you celebrate in these weeks.

The Nutcracker

We enjoyed the Nutcracker last night at the Walnut Hill Art School in Natick. This time, Turner's favorite part was the Mouse King especially his dramatic fall and then funny wave to the crowd as the Nutcracker prevailed. Cousins Caitlin, Max, Sara and friends, Kim, Allison and Laura joined us before for cookie making and dinner. Then, perhaps equally as exciting as the show, we made a stop at Master Mechanics - Allison & Laura's parent's car shop in Natick - and had an after hours tour of the shop.

Tis the season...we're off to Boston College's Winter Wonderland this afternoon.

Christmas Tree

Hi Everyone.

this is from Turner:

"I have a Christmas tree for Christmas. We got the tree with a saw. Ben cried when the tree fell. We said, "Timber," when it fell."

This was also Janey's first Santa meeting - she was very curious. Turner had a classic moment taken right from the "Christmas Story." Santa asked him what he wanted and he sputtered, paused and then said..."umm...a train." This is of course what he wanted last year (that and a key - remember the story of Matt trying to hide the key from him at home depot?) Turner realized what had happened a few moments later and said, "Mom, can I tell him that I want a star wars set next time?"

We corrected the mistake ...

Oh and the tree, picked out by Turner of course, stands 4 ft. tall in our living room. Perfect for our little people. Matt looks like a giant next to it!

A Normal Week

I'm thankful to report that we've had a very normal week this week. Pictures below showcase our most exciting events - a gingerbread house and Janey using a bowl.

Turner is pretty funny about the gingerbread house - why would anyone ever build something with candy and then not eat it? Everyday we eat another part of his creation pretending to be the giant candy eater. His gingerbread house was crafted with a halloween theme. The garden in front has poison ivy to keep the rabbits away and the gingerbread man is dressed as a firefighter.

Happy Birthday to Janey Bea!

Hi Everyone.

Hard to believe that Jane is already one years old! She is simply adorable: Saying "Hi, Hey, Oh-oh (when something falls), and Mama." She smiles with her eyes in a permanent twinkle and she has learned the art of nusseling into your chest when you hold her. Her punk rocker party party (see her punk rocker dress and blue hair) was a little less fun for her than the other kids - she ended the night with a fever - but bounced back today on her birthday to enjoy the cake a second time.

We read her her birth story tonight - this has been quite a year of changes and unexpected "not changes" for us. A year that naturally draws a deep breath when we think upon it so it is wonderful to think back on sacred hours like the ones surrounding a baby's birth when nothing else matters except the task at hand. There is a holiness to that simplicity that I have found at few other times in my life and I am grateful for this and the many, many other things that my children have taught me.

Christmas is beginning to fill our house, we hope the spirit is finding you as well!

Much love and happiness!

the saturn got smashed

Hi everyone.

We've had a couple of crazy weeks here. Below you can see the pictures of the car crash that happened last Saturday. We were all in the car, but thankfully and amazingly we all walked away fine. Turner says, "Its life is over but everybody is okay."

We also had an ultrasound yesterday and found out that we have a thriving little baby that is almost 8 weeks old.

love to everyone!

you can see that Turner is still ready to drive!

Trick Or Treat

Hi all -

Tammy and Bill hosted us again this year for the neighborhood candy frenzy. See William as Yoda and Martha as Bat Girl (2nd year in a row - awesome!) Janey decided to go as a bee at the last minute while Turner retired Simba after tonight's activities. He said "This is only for halloween and it's over now." At 3 he's already better at closure than his mother. Today he also asked me what Santa was going to bring him... on to the next receiving holiday.

Also, check out the "regular vistors" tab on the right. You can sign up to be one of our vistors and then when we update it we will try to let you know about the update.

Spooky Days

Hi Everyone -

Halloween has been happening for the past week. Turner's worn his costume 5 times including the Dullea's annual pumpkin party. He is off-the-wall excited for the culminating activity in Trick-or-Treat tonight. Last year he said, "Why are all those womens giving me candy?" but this year he will no doubt be on board. Janey is happy to be eating solid foods and drinking milk. She will be taking notes for next year. A few photos and videos from the week's activities.

Turner's in his pre-school class celebrating halloween. (Neck advisory while watching this video)

Disney World

Before we get to Halloween later this week (a lion and a monkey will be coming soon) let's start with Disney.

It was simply amazing and I have to admit that they really do do "magic." Fireworks, boat rides, animals, sand castles, mickey, pooh, train rides.. on and on and on.

If you want to see the whole set of pics, email me and I can send you our kodakgallery page. (catyandmattyb@yahoo.com)
