Hank wakes up every day a bit like an old door prying open. He makes a series of rusty, squeaky noises, he stands up and then calls out to us with "mo ... mo..." His sound for "more." He is requesting food - he's hungry, so he wants "more" - and yet for me, it is such a wonderful way to start my day - well, that is if it is at least 6:00. He reminds me to want more each day.
We've had a busy month. Playgroup is up and running under Jane's careful direction, Turner has been in school for 20 days and Hank is officially a toddler.
We hope you are cozy someplace with smells of pumpkin all around!
Here's a shot of our little guy with his eye patch to help correct his lazy eye. Turner likes to think of it as a training device for the young padawan. He wears it every day for about an hour and has adjusted to it really well. He cries when it first goes on but then all of the kids help me distract him and keep him happy. We will know more about the next step when we return to the doctor in December.

Jane & Hank are finding their way with out the big brother and Ben & Jane have developed a special connection. Ben has even convinced her to love hockey - of course in ruby red high heels. Hanky wants the hockey stick so much that I have begun to hide it from him. I really hope that is not in our future!

For Turner, KinderKicks has begun. I am thrilled to stand on the sidelines with a cup of coffee. It's a right of passage for me, really. Here's a shot of Madeline and Turner reunited on the soccer field. Icing on the cake - their coaches are from the United Kingdom. We're playing football on the pitch here in Natick.

Turner and I took a special trip to the Big E - the new england regional fair. He's been talking about it for a while and then I went into his classroom for curriculum night. His "hope" for kindergarten, posted on the wall for all to see, was a field trip to the Big E. I didn't think that was in his teacher's plans so we had a special mommy and Turner field trip. He experienced the Giant Slide, A House of Mirrors, a butter sculpture (not pictured), and got to help get the sheep back into their pin after being sheared. It was a very special day for us.

Another weekend we made it into Boston for our first family trip on the swan boats and to see the little ducklings.

Our garden continues to delight. We were especially suprised by our first pumpkin! We planted it from a mystery seed we got from the library and discovered it growing under our hosta plants.

Here are a few shots from a day at Nanny and Papa's while Uncle John was visiting... Baseball was popular for a bit and then chase uncle Johhny took the cake

And while we really hope to sell the house this fall, our time with Katie, Jim, Ben, Grace & Thurman has been so special. Here's some pictures of the gang at Natick Pizza.
