Farmer Grover

Jane started out on her own in the world last week. Well, sort of. She and Ben are attending a farm class once a week for about an hour at the Natick Organic Farm. With a good buddy, she boldly stepped out of our vigilant care and into the care of her first teacher. She did this without blinking an eye and with her very natural curiosity of new things showed a confidence that I admire. She is also convinced that Farmer Grover owns the farm and when asked about certain aspects of it, she refers to the farm as his. For example, she recounted that Farmer Grover's potty, a composting potty, doesn't have a flush handle.

Also, check out Turner's new do. After 5 years of my pretty boy haircuts he lobbied for the buzz cut. Partly because of Ben - in Turner's mind so that he can disguise himself as Ben - and partly because of Landon Donovan's historical goal securing the US National Soccer team's continuation in the next round of the World Cup.

Acadia

We've just returned from our Father's Day celebratory trip to Acadia. To quote Bill Zacharias, "We've had a lot of laughs in this life." Highlights: The Father's day scavenger hunt, Hank meeting the ocean and Turner's reaction to the seagull taking one of our snack bags, Jane's first pee in the woods, Matt cooking the 6 lbs of chicken he brought up with us (for a 3 day trip) at 9:00 a.m., Hanky's first ice cream, Catherine taking her Stats quiz (not pictured) and the majestic beauty of Acadia. We can't wait to go back

Happy Father's Day!

We are heading up to Acadia National Park to celebrate Father's day in a place that Matt has always wanted to go. Before we leave, though, we want to give a shout out to some of the Fathers, Papas, Grandpas that make our life sweet.

Happy Father's Day!

The Opening Number in Turner's Show

Turner's Show

Turner played the King in Another Tale of Despereaux this week. A great performance. He showed his tongue sticking out skills in most pictures; he broke the 4th wall when Jane ran up to the stage mid-performance to say hi and he shows improv potential after making the rest of the cast laugh when they were away from the scene. He was surrounded by friends and family for the show - even gave them a shout out in the introductions. 8 weeks of hard work well spent!
