Birthday pictures

Cupcakes from Baked by Melissa in NYC - Matt was away for the day and brought home a special treat.  Turner was here for the picture and then off to the piano to play the bday song.
Georgia grabbed a red velvet mini cupcake while we were distracted during the birthday song.  She's strategic and this time it paid big!
Hank said, "Mom, I can climb walls!"

Every party needs  bouncy house...

Bath time!  Georgia rarely gets a full bath - she loves it!

Aunt Mary made a surprise visit last night...

A Big Day for Us

Yesterday, was a big one for us.  It was my first day packing 3 lunches, Turner's 2nd grade picture day, Jane's first day of school, Hank's first day without Jane and Hank's first day at our town's play hour.  Everyone did great!  Jane loved school and Hank not only went into the room - he came out with a smile and his very own backpack on his back all by himself!

It's been so long...

I feel a bit remorseful turning to the blog today.  I've neglected it - but it could be worse, I could be neglecting my kids.  Here I sit with an ankle on its way to recovery and nothing to do but sit on the couch.  And so the time presents itself...

Our summer was truly awesome.  We spent most of it at Dug Pond in Natick and spiced it up with a trip to DC, Mansfield, and Liquid Water Planet.

Highs:  Georgia's Baptism, Becky and Mike's Wedding, Swimming and fishing in the pond! Our first water slide, Hank's 3rd Birthday, Catherine meeting author Mary Johnson, Pizza making with the Bailey's, Seeing the Presidential motorcade in Mansfield, swimming at my old pool, making Uncle Stephen crazy with our usual volume, family sleepovers at Grandma and Grandpas, Daddy transforming our yard into an oasis, raspberry picking at Nanny and Papa's, Mary Poppins Camp for Jane, having the Biggan's visit, Redsox Game with Bill Campbell, Research party 2012 - Tiger Sharks and Farm Camp, Visit from Ann, Georgia and Rose, Camp out in the backyard with Daddy, Playing, playing and then some more playing with Ellie, Abby, Teagan and Daniel on our block, monopoly, pokemon, and soccer games, the daily treat of swimming at our neighbor's pool, and finally, celebrating our 10th anniversary!  Who knew all of this was possible?  We are so so grateful!

Lows:  3:00 p.m. most days, Hank losing his nap (yikes!), and Ankle surgery followed by accidently taking too many laxatives after the pain meds constipated me.  oops!  Crutch, crutch, crutch to the bathroom ;)

2nd Grade, Natick Playschool here we come this fall.  And watch out world, Hank has become the most outgoing of all the kids and Georgia is just about to crawl.  We are on the move - except when we are sitting on the couch waiting for Matt to bring me one more thing.

Becoming Catholic, Again - my spiritual memoir - due out in October.  Loyola Press is publishing it.  Amazon and Barnes & Nobles are selling it.  It's a great Christmas gift - really.
