The 8th, T, 16 of July

Turner said yesterday, "What's tomorrow?" He was not content with the answer, "Saturday," because between "shunshine" camp and the 4th of July, life has been pretty exciting around here. Expectations are low in the life of a toddler; so much so that almost everyday has Holiday potential. My favorite is Turner's understanding of numbers and letters. He thinks they are all one and the same and when someone asked him what the day was, he said the 8th, T, 16 of July.

Later, we were driving and saw an American flag in the distance. Matt asked Turner what it was and Turner said as emphatically as he speaks about "teamwork," "Hey, that's what we were learning about - stripes and stars." Cautiously patriotic; we like that about him.

Happy 4th everyone.

We've been organizing the attic (with the goal of a yard sale that we are too lazy to actually pull-off) and Turner found a "bear suit" today. It's an 18month size - he had it on for about an hour today (July in the attic mind you.) Very funny if not dehydrating.

Janey loves rolling over so much she rolls over in the bathtub now too.

Turner as the cookie monster. With cakes, he only eats the icing - give him a cookie and he'll pick through to the chocolate chips. Creating this happy mess.

June

Alas, again we(read Catherine) have been delinquent in our blogging and now that we've got you all hooked that is simply unfair. Here's a bit of a summary and a re-committment to blogging.

Time with Grandma & Grandpa during a trip to Ohio for their 40th Anniversary!

Martha's 4th Birthday at Build-a-Bear. Turner made a Panda named Kooka. (William, Martha's brother then named his Koala, KaaKaa.)

Happy Father's Day Daddy!

Finger painting with Ben and Martha.

Other than this, we've been doing a lot of the routine - trips to the library every couple of days, naps for Janey, and walks to the "playtown" as Turner still calls it. We're still very obsessed with the Lion King and a new favorite game is pretending to play 3 pigs and the wolf. Sometimes I feel a little self-conscious when Turner asks another kid at the playtown if he'd like to hunt deers with him.)

Pictures of "ShunShine" camp to come next week!
