Turner has recently started peeing in the standing up position. An important moment in most men's lives, I'm sure. After he peed the other day, I said, "Turner make sure to wash your hands well b/c you probably have pee-pee on the." He responded, "Should I wash my leg too Mom?"
After reading Franklin's Mess - about a Turtle that can't find his coat of arms and sword because his room is too messy - Turner went up to the attic - a new favorite space. 20 minutes later he came down holding his shirt up while showing me the piece of paper that was hanging from his belly with scribbles all over it. Turner said, "Look mom, it says Franklin, brave and loyal." He had created his own shield - and then glued it to himself. very funny.
We're saving lots of money on electricity right now b/c Turner continues to be in the nocturnal animal phase. about 95% of the time he is playing in his room, he has the lights out.
Janey has taken to moving quickly from one room to another - disappearing Janey. Very funny and a little scary when you walk into a room after just having left and say, "Where's the baby?" She usually peeks her head out from a corner smiling as if to say, "got you."
And by far - the best story.... Turner had his first dance class this week. He also had his last dance class. We went to Nancy Kelly's studio in down town Natick. With towers of cd's stacked in one corner of the room - sun bleached pictures of past awards and parades Nancy was in and a room full of pink toddler fairies (Turner was the only boy) we entered Natick in the 1960's. Nancy herself was a picture to take in. Dressed in all black - leggings, dancer shorts, tank top - with blue and pink makeup highlighting her features and a cascading white-blond pony tail on top of her 60+ head. Turner was enjoying it for the first 10 minutes and then Nancy "put on her thinking cap" and went around the circle saying everyone's name. She got to Turner and completely drew a blank - from that point on, Turner was no longer enjoying dance. He stood in a line about to saashay - not wanting to get in trouble with the teacher but wanting to RUN! he looked back at me and his lip started to quiver - it was more than I could handle myself. Rescue mom came from deep inside and I rushed him over to the bathroom. He decided that he only wanted to watch but as "I'm looking for some hot stuff baby" played in the background and Jane started sqwaking to the music, we made the good decision to leave. Once outside, Turner said, "Why did you think that I wanted to do that?" Priceless.
Finally - pictures from Davis Farm with Aunt Frannie, Sara, Caitlin, Max & Sadie. As a petting zoo, the kids can go into the some of the pens - I put Turner in with some Scottish cows and he looked at me that I was crazy! Couldn't believe that I had actually put him inside an animal cage! The day ended with ice cream at Friendly's. Awesome!
