Turner is in a group at school called, The Peacemakers. Ironically, they sang at the Veteran's Day Parade in Natick a few weeks ago. here's to hoping that one day they'll be no more veterans - but of course, we were so moved by the men and women - some even from WWII! - who gave years of their life to a cause they saw as bigger than themselves. Here's a little clip. You can see his blonde head in the second row to the right of the microphone. Also, Jane sang with her class this morning. She's in the middle of the back row between the boy in the black shirt and the girl in the red. The parents were invited in to see the class room for American Education week. She's got an amazing teacher and a room full of friends. Kindergarten is an age I would repeat in a heartbeat. She was also very happy to show me her organized supply box with the crayons in rainbow order and the scissors resting precisely on front side of the box. Can I claim this skill? Probably not, but I'm so grateful she has it. Can't wait for her to start organizing my things.
Finally, Georgia - no video right now - but a heap of stories to tell. Here she is at her first 3d Film. (Cousin Max and big brother Turner in the background.) This pretty much sums it up. She is frequently in places and situations that we never would have taken an almost 2 year old to before. (For example, she will be in front of the microphone this weekend at church as we are the host family - will have to report about that one later.) All of this makes life frustrating or more joyful depending on how much sleep or pampering I have had on that day.
She is also well cemented into the MINE stage and she is lucky beyond belief that Hank thinks its all pretty funny (until she wrecks a well planned train track.) She asserted herself at the library train table yesterday and the mom of the child she intimidated (a 3 year old boy) said, "I like her!" Let's hope it serves her well in life and that her soft side comes to the train table too.
Yesterday, she was in the kitchen dancing around and demanding something. I looked at her and said, "You're cracking me up G." She walked away from me like a penguin and said, "Quack, Quack."
Here are some pictures of Jane, Hank and G playing in a leaf pile after school. And… a picture of Fluffy the Guinea Pig. We hosted him last weekend. G oinked at him for the 3 days that he was here.
