A Memorable Memorial Day

We had a "home vacation" this weekend. 4 days of hanging around the house and doing things that we've always wanted to do but haven't found the time for... of note are the garden we built and the newly painted shed & fence. There's a little of farmer Fred in me after all - just wish that I had a volkswagon rabbit to drive around in the back yard.

Turner showed his Midwestern roots at our end of the weekend bbq by eating 3 hot dogs, 2 "cones of corn," and a bowl of ice cream after which he declared, "This was a perfect day." We had lots of time to play & cook too - the moosewood cookbook is now a favorite of ours! I made a recipe of crepes on Sunday morning - Turner tasted the first one and said, "Can I have grapes from the refrigerator now?"

We're back in the swing of the routine this morning, but it feels like summer is here and the fun can begin!
